Healing Motion was founded by J. Christopher Potts, PT, DPT in response to a need for comprehensive physical therapy and wellness services all under one roof. He feels strongly that the traditional way physical therapy is provided does not place the patient and their healing process as the first and most important priority. Healing Motion was founded to create a treatment environment that fosters a collaborative relationship between patient and therapist, and allows the therapist the freedom to craft the best possible plan of care for each patient. This requires hour-long, one-on-one therapy sessions with each patient.
If you are currently doing physical therapy and don’t feel that it’s helping, ask yourself these questions:
- Have you had physical therapy where it seemed like your pain and dysfunction don't really matter to the therapist?
- Do you always get heat or ice, whether you really need it or not?
- Have you ever been in the clinic for over an hour but hardly seen your therapist because they were too busy running around with 5 or 6 other patients besides you?
- Were you only shown your exercises once, and then left to remember or figure them out on your own?
- Have you been through the therapy mill (maybe more than once!) and still aren't better?
These are the situations we work to avoid. When a patient finishes physical therapy at Healing Motion, they leave with a wealth of management techniques and a complete education in their own care. In addition to continuing with a home program, some individuals find it beneficial to have periodic Myofascial Release and massage sessions to maintain the progress they have achieved in therapy. Other patients who have become hooked on Pilates and Gyrotonic continue their study, maintenance, and care at Healing Motion with one of our certified instructors privately or in a group lesson.
MEET CHRIS POTTS, DPTTestimonials
Chris is extremely knowledgeable, communicative, and informative. He is the first person I have worked with who knows about EDS, hypermobility, and Autism to the extent that he does. I have only have two sessions so far and have already noticed improvements and benefits from our session.
G. Posted On October 3, 2023PracticeBeatI can’t recommend Healing Motion Physical Therapy and Wellness Therapy enough! Dr Potts is the owner and sole physical therapist there. He works with only one patient in a time slot at a time rather than the big physical therapy clinics where one PT works with 3-5 overlapping patients at a time. ...
